Bradley Gunn · AI software engineer
BRADEX
of Sherborne, Dorset
Bradex stands for three things: identity, one hundred per cent, and quality. It is also where the things I make are kept.
-
Identity
Know who you are and where you are from, and put your name to what you do.
-
One hundred per cent
Whatever the work, all of it. Nothing held back and nothing by half.
-
Quality
Done properly or not at all. Made to stand close inspection, and to last.
The creations
Made in Sherborne,
one at a time.
By day I’m an AI software engineer. These are the things I make for myself: each one done properly, each one from Sherborne.

Shirburnian is the word for someone from Sherborne. Made in Sherborne by Alex of Bean Shot. The hands keep Sherborne time.

Echoes of Sherborne.
The first story: Pack Monday
Friday, 9 October. You step off the train into a town getting ready for its oldest fair, and some of the people who made it are walking its streets again: Aldhelm, Bishop Roger, Abbot Bradford, Sir Walter Raleigh, and a mason called Teddy Roe who may never have lived. On Sunday night, when the Abbey strikes twelve, the Band sets off with every pot and pan in Sherborne, loud enough, they say, to wake the dead.
The town is the real one. Every street is where OpenStreetMap puts it. Every building stands on its own footprint at the height the Environment Agency’s laser survey measured, roof pitch and all, and you can go through any front door in town. The history is real; the living people are made up.
